Fiat has unveiled the Panda Hydrogen, a concept vehicle powered by an innovative fuel cell system, capable of delivering all the necessary power without the need for drive batteries.The Panda Hydrogen is equipped with a fuel cell system called "Full Power": it lacks a drive battery for the accumulation of electrical energy that in most fuel cell vehicles is needed for acceleration. Panda Hydrogen is the result of a joint venture between Fiat Auto, the Fiat Research Centre and Fiat Powertrain Research & Technology with the support of the Research and Environment Ministries. It features performances a urban use: it accelerates from 0 to 50 km/m in less than 5 seconds and can reach a top speed of 130 km/h. The hydrogen tank capacity guarantees the Panda Hydrogen a range of more than 200 km over an urban cycle. Refuelling time is very quick at less than 5 minutes, i.e. comparable to the time taken to refuel a methane car.The electrical power generation system is supplied with hydrogen at a pressure of 1.5 bars and oxygen contained in the air. It produces electrical energy so efficiently that 60% is available at just 20% of maximum power. The alternating current three-phase asynchronous electric engine and the transmission are located in the engine compartment together with the various auxiliary systems. Though Fuel Cell propulsion systems will not be widely available before 15-20 years, in 2006 Fiat will start a field research phase with some demonstration Panda Hydrogen fleets.

Fiat Punto Evo (new information)

Henceforth at Fiat will be own "Evo". But it is a question not of competitor Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, and about modernised hatchback Grande Punto which has been presented for the first time on a motor show in Frankfurt. And, this car henceforth loses prefix Grande in the name, but gets letters Evo. As a result restyling car is called Fiat Punto Evo.

So... How "Evolution" differs from old Grande Punto? First of all appearance – the car has received new "muzzle" with other bumper and a radiator enclosure. Besides, the interior which became much more interesting is seriously changed.

I will tell only that motors of family MultiAir are more powerful than similar units approximately on 10 %, of 10 % are more economic on the same and that is very important, the twisting moment in a zone of average turns at them has increased at once by 15 %. Also diesel engines in volume of 1,3 l Multijet, which steels have been updated also is hardly more powerful and more economic. And in addition to reduce fuel consumption the system "stop start" which now will start to put on Punto Evo should. And, already in a base complete set.

Fiat Punto updated

Company FIAT has presented on a motor show in Frankfurt the updated model Punto. Henceforth hatchback class B is called Punto Evo. Outwardly the novelty looks is more adult and is more expensive, and with a new radiator enclosure the 5-door model even something reminds Aston Martin.

Will be among them and the 1,4-litre gasoline engine with innovative system Multiair thanks to which levels of capacity, pull-rods, profitability and ecological compatibility in comparison with traditional motors increase by 10-15 %. Besides, the assortment will fill up 1,3-litre diesel engine Multijet, and also the engines working on methane and natural gas. Moreover, the standard complete set will include also system "stop start".

Already in base equipment Punto Evo offers tremendous level of safety – the car is equipped by seven pillows of safety, including a pillow of safety for knees of the driver. Besides, the navigation-information system "Blue&Me-TomTom" uniting phone, the navigator and the information touch colour display becomes standard. Car sales start in the end of October.
